We proceeded to the town hall/galleria room which was unacceptable especially after giving up our 2 bedroom in a timeshare exchange. This was ridiculous especially since the activities- gym, bowling, and half of the game room was closer down because of the flood. The staff was understaffed and basically shook their heads blaming the new company and their new rules, especially the $21/day/ room service/activity fee which was never imposed. Upon arrival, we found out that our room was given away and the staff at the front desk tried to put us in 2 hotel rooms upstairs at the town hall. We called 2 days prior to secure the room and make sure they hold the room since we were checking in a day later due to the hurricane. We came in as timeshare exchanges and were guaranteed a 2 bedroom unit at Willowbrook 2nd or 3rd floor.

They have changed the rooms (supposedly update them) to mini hotel rooms with small twin beds that could fit children only. This company has changed the 2 bedroom timeshares to single 1 bedroom units at Willowbrook to accommodate more people. This year, however, has been a horrible experience since the resort was taken over by the Belair company. So we have been visiting this resort for over 20 years and have always had a good experience. We left after two days when we were supposed to stay a week. To boot they charged me twice for my stay which I contested through my charge card and was thankfully reimbursed by my bank No one answers the phone and most of the front desk staff is rude. And the Tiki Bar next to the lake was disgusting and fly infested. The wood boards around the lake are are in a dangerous state. They said the called maintenance and that someone was on the way. No one came repeated calls for a plunger and chairs for outside our room. Half the units in our building were unoccupied and looked like the were being gutted. They put us up in Willowbrook because of renovations. We went with friends and prepared them for this. We hadn’t been there for a while because it was run down. Please note, the maximum occupancy for each room includes, adult and children.We are owners of a timeshare at Split Rock for almost twenty years now. The hold will be released upon check-out pending any incidental charges. Please note, at check-in an authorization will be held for all payments made by credit or debit cards. Water park access is available at a surcharge. The water park is open Friday through Sunday.
